Powered by 1.000bhp supercharged V8 from a drag car, this near 1.300kg trike is said to be capable to reach 321km/h. Its owner, Tim Cotterrill, who commissioned the machine to his own design from the same company that made Jay Leno's tank car, has only mustered the balls to hit 257km/h though. Should he ever reach Vmax, there's a parachute on-board for extra braking.
THE REAL THING is a short documentary Directed and Photographed by Julian Kingabout custom hot rod builder BODIE STROUD and his re-imagining of a classic Mustang by way of an extremely rare and powerful motor built specifically for legendary racer Mario Andretti's 1969 Can Am series race car.
The film follows the complex and creative build from its early stages, through its initial test drive all the way to an unveiling at the SEMA Car Show in Las Vegas where Bodie comes face to face with Mario Andretti himself.
Bottpower has a deep know-how acquired in Motogp, WSBK and the CEV (Spanish Championship), which is used to design and build concept motorbikes, from race prototypes to street legal motorbikes. From a single unit till short series. The BOTT XR1 is one of those examples.
This first XR1 has been customized with a lot of elements. The silencer instead of the original one they used a Torque Hammer which is smaller, lighter and improves the engine performance a little bit. Besides the silencer, the front fork and 8 pistons brake caliper are from a Buell 1125. Front master cylinder and clutch lever are from ISR (including the push buttons). The bike aslo has a Motogadget display, and an Easton handlebar. Rear shock is an Öhlins from the Buell 1125 race kit.
Both the chassis and the subframe have been clear coated in such a way that you can see the welding cordons.
